Whale Watching.

Bahía Solano – Chocó.

Starting from $ 2.800.000 COP per person.

Bahía Solano, a gem of the Colombian Pacific, is a natural sanctuary where virgin jungles, hidden beaches, and local communities connect you to the land in a deep and authentic way.

Here, humpback whale watching is not just an activity — it is a ritual of respect and awe before the majesty of marine life.

Itinerary

Transfer to the hotel, check-in, room assignment, lunch, and free afternoon.

DAY 02 – BOAT TRIP TO SEARCH FOR WHALES
Early in the morning, we take a boat ride to search for humpback whales and witness the spectacle they offer as they surface with their 7-meter blows, backs, tails, and playful calves. If there is no sighting, another outing will be rescheduled.

After breakfast, we head to the hotel’s nature reserve to enjoy the spectacular landscape of the humid rainforest and discover species found nowhere else in the world.

DAY 04 – NATURAL NATIONAL PARK
A 35-minute boat ride through jungle and rocky scenery takes us to Utría. The majestic emerald-green inlet, its mangroves, and white sand beaches with crystal-clear waters provide the perfect setting for walking, swimming, or snorkeling.

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Bring eco-friendly repellent (preferably with Icaridin or Citronella) to protect yourself from mosquitoes without harming the natural environment.

  • Wear long sleeves in the afternoon to avoid bites.

  • If you’re sensitive, bring antihistamines just in case.

Clothing

It rains frequently, so bring waterproof clothing, light layers, and a rain cover for your backpack.

Hat and sunglasses: the sun can be strong when it comes out, so don’t be misled by cloudy skies.

Details and Suggestions

Experience duration: From 5 days, 4 nights.

Season dates: From June 15 to August 20.

Weather and temperature: Bahía Solano has a warm, humid, and tropical climate year-round. Between June 15 and August 20, the average temperature ranges from 24 °C to 30 °C (75 °F to 86 °F), with high humidity and frequent rain, especially in the afternoons.

Mosquitoes: Due to the humid rainforest and natural surroundings, mosquitoes are common—especially in the mornings and at dusk. We recommend bringing insect repellent and wearing lightweight long-sleeved clothing.

Cell signal: Mobile reception may be limited in some areas. It’s the perfect chance to disconnect and reconnect with nature.

  • Avoid single-use plastics and respect local wildlife.

  • Bahía Solano is a fragile ecosystem, and your visit can contribute to its conservation.

  • Do not touch or feed wild animals on beaches, in mangroves, or along trails.
